Public/Private Roles
Public-private partnership opportunities include parking and other possibilities, with large-scale TOD projects adjacent to the station, such as the planned Cira Centre South residential tower. Potential immediate opportunities with parking , which is owned by Amtrak, include administration and maintenance of parking and station facilities by a private third party. 30th Street Station has previously undertaken public-private partnership initiatives such as The Porch, a 50-foot-wide sidewalk featuring an abundance of seating, shade, and other pedestrian amenities to create a more pedestrian-oriented environment immediately adjacent to the station. Capital improvements have been made by PennDOT and the UCD. These public-private partnership opportunities could be expanded as new development occurs near the station.
