Exton Station is located on the southern end of the Pottsville Pike, which extends one-mile north to Business Route 30 – West Whiteland Township's primary commercial corridor. The northern end of Pottsville Pike is anchored by the Exton Square Mall (1+ million square feet), which is situated at the intersection of Pottsville Pike and Business Route 30. This intersection lies at the heart of the Township’s proposed Town Center District. The regional highway network physically isolates Exton Station from adjacent properties and limits potential for transit-supportive development. The station primarily functions as a park-and-ride and, as such, the Station Area only includes the parcels used by SEPTA and Amtrak for surface parking.
